Junior Strings - Taster Sessions

Wymondham Youth Music Society has a well-established Junior Strings group.  This is for any children who play the violin, viola, cello or double bass, from those who have been learning just a short while (pre Grade 1) through to those of about Grade 3+ standard. There is no specified age limit.

We would love to welcome lots of new members in 2018! So that children can come and 'have a go' without committing to anything, we are having two 'taster' sessions at the beginning of the Spring Term. These will be on Thursdays 4th and 11th January, from 6.00 - 7.00pm in the North Hall of Wymondham High Academy, Folly Road entrance. Music of varying levels of difficulty will be provided, including some very easy parts using only open strings, or just open strings and first fingers. Kay Dorling and myself will be very happy to help and support children as needed - no worries at all about 'getting it right’! (Just have a try, or sit, watch and listen for a while if you prefer!)

It would be helpful to me, though not essential, to have an idea of who might come along on these days. There will be no charge for the 'taster' sessions. Application forms to officially sign up will be available on the day. The normal termly charge is £32, but for anyone joining after trying our taster sessions, the fee will be reduced for the first term to £25. Please do contact me on 01379 677279 or 07860 267430, or by email:- chris@jaggard.org.uk to register your interest, or if there is anything else you would like to know.
