EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL YOUNG PLAYERS!

WYMS has teamed up with the Norfolk and Norwich Festival to put on an evening working with professionals from the renowned Britten Sinfonia. This exciting opportunity is for WYMS members and other young players of orchestral instruments.

This Beethoven Workshop is described by the N&N Festival: “Pupils will be introduced to our Beethoven-focused 2017 Festival concert with Britten Sinfonia in a creative and interactive way, exploring new music collectively: improvising, analysing and performing. Pupils will have the opportunity to work alongside professional musicians to gain insight into the instruments, repertoire and concert setting.” Click here for a link to the N&N Festival website. You can also download a copy of the Take Part: Schools leaflet by clicking here.

The workshop will take pace on Thursday 4 May at the usual WYMS rehearsal time of 6:00pm. The location will be the South Hall of Wymondham High Academy (entrance off Norwich Road).

The N&N Festival cost for participation is £12 per pupil, but WYMS will be subsidising the cost to encourage as many as possible to attend. So WYMS members can attend FREE; non-members will pay only £6. If you are interested, then you can download a WYMS application form here. Please fill it in and return it to the WYMS secretary Linda White. If you’d like to know more, give her a call. Her contact details are on the Contact Us page. We’ll need your reply as soon as possible and at the very latest by Thursday 28 April. Please note that you won’t be able to take part via WYMS if you reply directly to the N&N Festival.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity - don’t miss it!
